Secondary School

Secondary School at Braeburn Kisumu (ages 11 to 16 years) covers Key Stages 3 and 4, culminating in the internationally recognised IGCSE examinations. Years 7 – 9 develop from the Primary framework with specialised teachers for all subjects. Progress is tested regularly and ends in the Key Stage 3 Standardised Assessment Tests (SATs).

During term 2 of Year 9, pupils are guided and supported as they select the subjects they will continue to study in Years 10 and 11. All pupils study English Literature, English Language, and Mathematics, in addition to six elected subjects. During Year 11, the students sit nine Cambridge IGCSE examinations.

Sixth Form: Beyond Braeburn Kisumu

After completing their IGCSE exams in Year 11, pupils can continue their studies in a Sixth Form within the Braeburn Group of Schools or at another institution of their choice.

Our teachers guide pupils in selecting courses that match their strengths, interests, and future aspirations. In addition, the Braeburn Careers and University Advisor is available to provide personalised support and advice to help each pupil make confident, informed decisions about their next steps.
