Welcome

It is a true honor to introduce myself as Head of Braeburn Kisumu International School, part of the esteemed Braeburn Group of Schools. For over twenty years, I have dedicated my career to creating environments where learners feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow into the best versions of themselves.

At Braeburn Kisumu, our mission is to nurture well-rounded individuals who discover their talents, embrace strong values, and step confidently into the world as responsible global citizens. Our passionate faculty works closely with each child, guiding them to excel academically while also encouraging creativity, resilience, and self-expression. Beyond the classroom, a vibrant mix of clubs and sporting activities ensures that every learner has the chance to shine, celebrate achievements, and build lasting memories.

As leader of this thriving community, my vision is to inspire learners to dream boldly and pursue those dreams with distinction. With welcoming facilities and a warm atmosphere, we foster a culture where children genuinely love coming to school and take pride in their progress.

If you have not yet visited us, I warmly invite you to experience the spirit and energy of Braeburn Kisumu International School. Testimonials

Pavleen, Parent

‘Braeburn Kisumu International School has played a significant role in shaping our eldest daughter into a confident individual. She joined Braeburn Kisumu at just 2 years old, a very shy child. Watching her grow all the way through her school career to her IGCSE examinations has been truly remarkable and is a testament to every teacher’s patience, dedication, and hard work in nurturing her identity.

Braeburn Kisumu does not only groom children academically, but also emotionally and physically, equipping them with the confidence and resilience needed to face the outside world.

Our youngest child is now in Primary School and is being guided through the same enriching experiences, reaffirming our trust in the Braeburn journey.’

Jackline, Parent

‘I have three children in Crèche, Primary and Secondary School. Braeburn Kisumu has been like a second home to them.

It is a place where academics have worked well for my children due to the small class sizes and the awesome support from the teachers and management at the school. Every small problem is quickly picked up and sorted out efficiently. There have also been plenty of extracurricular options for my children, moulding them into well-rounded individuals.

The small community is tight knit and this has been excellent for ensuring that school and social functions are well coordinated.

I would highly recommend Braeburn Kisumu for anyone looking for an international curriculum school.’

Amanda, Primary Parent

‘Our experience at Braeburn Kisumu has been positive and deeply rewarding for our whole family. Our daughter, now in Year 3, has been part of the school since the end of Foundation Stage 2, and during this time, we have seen her grow in confidence, curiosity and independence.

The small class sizes make a noticeable difference. Teachers give genuine individual attention, and create a supportive environment where children feel seen, valued, and encouraged to do their best. This has allowed our daughter to flourish both academically and socially. She is happy at school, likes her teachers, and responds well to the clear structure and strong academic foundation provided.

Braeburn Kisumu is a nurturing, well-organised school with a strong sense of community, and we are proud to be part of it.’

Curricula

Early Years

Children in the Early Years, aged 2 to 5 years, have a dedicated learning area in cosy classrooms, with plenty of toys and a discovery play area to develop their creative skills.

The garden provides a safe space for supervised play, where children can develop their physical skills and confidence. Our resident rabbit and tortoise offer gentle opportunities to learn about caring for animals, as well as learning about empathy and responsibility. Snack and lunch times are held outdoors, helping the children develop their social mealtime skills in a relaxed and natural setting.

Primary

In Primary School, we build on the skills children develop whilst in the Early Years. During this phase, the pupils continue to learn through discovery and child-led learning activities. Our highly qualified and enthusiastic teachers ensure learning is exciting, engaging, and relevant.

An all-inclusive teaching approach allows children full access to the curriculum. We emphasise the core basic English, Mathematics, and Science skills woven into our topical subjects, History and Geography.

Secondary

Our Secondary School educates students aged 11-16 years. In Years 7 – 9 (Key Stage 3) the pupils continue to build on the Primary framework with specialised teachers ensuring they develop the skills needed to succeed at Key Stage 4 and beyond.

During the second term of Year 9, pupils are supported and guided in selecting the subjects they will study in Years 10 and 11, culminating in the internationally recognised IGCSE examinations. Thereafter, students can progress to a school within the Braeburn Group to continue with their Sixth Form studies.
