BKIS observed the Child Welfare day on 17th June 2022 through various classroom and whole school activities. We regard Safeguarding and Child protection as part of our core business and as a way of creating awareness, the day was marked by having:
- Green balloons and ribbons distributed to all students and staff. The Green Ribbon was adopted by the National Child Protection Committee in 1994 and symbolises life and growth associated with children as well as the nurturing of children.
- Students created beautiful posters and banners in their classes with verses, statements and children’s rights written on them with different themes according to Key stage; KS1- Food, clothing, a safe home, LKS2- Access to education, UKS2- Children with disabilities, KS3 & 4-Protection from exploitation.
- Students watched the movie ‘Inside out' and had an analysis and discussion on emotions.
We also had an amazing cluster picnic lunch at the field to encourage and teach protective behaviours and students to feel comfortable reporting abuse.
