REMEMBRANCE DAY

11th November 2021

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day owing to the tradition of wearing a remembrance poppy) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to honour our men and women in uniform who have died in the line of duty.

As BKIS community we joined the world in commemorating this important day through various in-class activities, a minute of silence assembly and raising money for the ASKARI FUND through the sale of poppies. We further took this opportunity to shine a light on the African soldiers who were so often buried in unmarked graves. It was really encouraging to note that our students, staff and parents came out to buy the poppies (we ran out of them!) and proudly display donning them! Thank you so much BKIS Community.
